RALEIGH - Fred William “Bill” Long, 79, died Monday, Dec. 31, 2007. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
He was born in Kannapolis, son of the late Annie Odessa Alston Long and Fred Long. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was preceded in death by his wife, Trula Almond Long.
Surviving: his daughters, Connie Murphy (William) of Youngsville, Trula Darnell Parrish (Vernon) of Louisburg; sister, Sylvia Long of Albemarle; brothers, Joe Long of Albemarle, Rudolph Long of Old Fort, and Lonnie Long of Riddleton, Tenn.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
