WILLIAM R. “BILLY” CARDON JR.
LOUISBURG - William Robert “Billy” Cardon Jr., 64, died Monday, Jan. 7, 2008 at Duke Medical Center while awaiting a lung transplant. Funeral services were conducted Thursday, Jan. 10, at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service chapel in Knightdale, with the Rev. Randall Owens officiating. A graveside service was conducted Thursday at Jamesville Cemetery in Jamesville, with military honors.

He was born in Wilmington to the late William Robert Cardon Sr. and Sarah Elizabeth Cooper Cardon. He served his country in the U. S. Army. Until retirement, he worked for Visual Graphic Corporation.

Surviving: a daughter, Lisa Cardon Clark (Lane) of Raleigh; adopted children, Susan C. Broadwell (Ken) of Knightdale, Steven Claude Cardon (Debra) of Rockville, Md., Robert Raymond Cardon (Mary) of Raleigh; brother, Marvin Cardon of Raleigh; sisters, Marjorie C. Proffitt of Stem, Jeanette C. Daniels of Rocky Mount.
