LINDA DUNN TIPPETT
ROXBORO - Linda Dunn Tippett, age 59, of 2245 Gentry Ridge Road, Roxboro, NC, died Thursday evening, September 18, at her home with family by her side.

Mrs. Tippett was a native of Person Co., NC, daughter of the late Roy Thomas Dunn and Pauline Johnson Dunn, who survives, and wife of 35 years to Roy Thomas Tippett. She graduated from the Watts School of Nursing in 1969 and then worked as an emergency room nurse for 40 years at Watts Hospital, Maria Parham Hospital in Henderson, Granville Hospital and Person Memorial Hospital in Roxboro until she was unable to continue, and also worked as a teacher’s assistant at North End Elementary School. She was a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church. She always cared more about others than for herself.

Surviving in addition to her husband and mother are 3 sons: Brian Thomas Tippett & fiancé, Letitia Bullock of Concord, NC, Kevin Patrick Tippett & wife, Brooke, and Jeffrey Alan Tippett, all of Roxboro, NC; 2 brothers: Roy Dempsey Dunn & wife, Laurie, Timmy Ray Dunn & wife, Kim, all of Roxboro, NC; 2 nephews: Dempsey C. Dunn and Brandon Ray Dunn; 5 other nieces and nephews also survive.

Mrs. Tippett was preceded in death by a brother, Terry Thomas Dunn.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, September 21, in the Strickland Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Tommy Robertson, Rev. Brian Hagar and Rev. Ben Gault. Interment will follow in the Mill Creek Baptist Church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7 till 8:30 p.m. Saturday, September 20, at Strickland Funeral Home, Roxboro, and other times at the home.

Pallbearers will be Jason Cash, Jeremy Holt, Rick Lappin, Blake Melton, Alan Moore, Ricky Palmer, David Parham and Marshall Slaughter. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Mill Creek Fellowship Sunday School class.

Memorial contributions may be made to Home Health & Hospice of Person County, 355-A South Madison Blvd., Roxboro, NC 27573 or The Cancer Services at Person Memorial Hospital. Please make checks payable to Person Memorial Hospital Foundation for Cancer Services, 615 Ridge Road, Roxboro, NC 27573.
