BETTY H. PHILLIPS
LOUISBURG – Betty Hamlet Phillips, 85, died Wednesday morning, Oct. 22, 2008. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. today (Saturday, Oct. 25) at Sandy Creek Baptist Church, with the Rev. Joel Story officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

She was the daughter of the late Charlie Morton and Sarah Ann Davis Hamlet and was preceded in death by her husband, D.C. Phillips. She was a member of Sandy Creek Baptist Church and retired from Burlington Industries.

Surviving: her sons Charles Phillips (Elizabeth) of Pulaski, Tenn., and Mike Phillips of Louisburg; seven grandchildren; six great- grandchildren.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Sandy Creek Baptist Church, 4160 N.C. Highway 561, Louisburg, NC 27549.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Arrangements are by Strickland Funeral Home, Louisburg.

Mrs. Phillips was a very dedicated Christian woman. She would always hug my neck and tell me how much she loved me whenever she saw me. She reminds be of the woman in Proverbs 31. Mrs. Phillips was definitely a living testimony of her faith. She will be missed.
