L. H. “PETE” DICKENS, II
September 3, 1928 – January 14, 2009
LOUISBURG – L. H. “Pete” Dickens, II, 80, of the White Level Community passed away peacefully Wednesday evening at his home.

Pete was preceded in death by his parents, Lucius Herman and Irene Hollingsworth Dickens, and his infant daughter. Pete graduated from Oak Ridge Military School. He was in business with his father. They owned a General Store, Fertilizer Company and a Cotton Gin. After his father’s death he started in the fuel business. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and member of White Level Baptist Church.

A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Saturday at White Level Baptist Church, with the Rev. Henry Stamper and the Rev. Winfred Porter officiating.

Pete is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Dawn Hight Dickens; sons, Herman and Mark Dickens and his wife Amy; and 4 grandchildren, J.M., Holly, Anna and Jonathan Dickens, all of Louisburg.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to White Level Baptist Church, Building Fund, 2400 White Level Road, Louisburg, NC 27549.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service and other times at the home of Mark and Amy Dickens, 1743 White Level Road, Louisburg.

Arrangements are by Strickland Funeral Home, Louisburg.
