Funny-acting governors could be waterlogged
Funny-acting governors could be waterlogged
I just wrote a story about some funny water in Franklinton, and I have to believe that some current governors must have stopped in for a drink.
The first to take a sip had to be South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford.
Last month, Sanford disappeared for about a week and led his wife, inner circle and everybody else to believe he was hiking the Appalachian Trail.
Turns out he had jetted to Argentina to be with/say goodbye to a woman with whom he was having an affair.

What’s next, folks... another boondoggle?
GOOD MORNING: Hope you had a nice holiday weekend. Frankly, as one who normally has Saturday’s and Sunday’s off anyway, in addition to having some difficulty realizing that Saturday was a national holiday myself, you would probably have had some difficulty convincing grandson Andrew Johnson that Saturday was any sort of holiday either as I rousted him out of the sack early to help with Saturday yard chores as usual.

If you read our weekend edition, you know that Sen. Berger, who is co-chair of the Health and Human Services appropriations committee, is at odds with the proposed budget for home health services.

Water problems in Franklinton
Franklinton officials have called a special meeting to discuss infrastructure issues in light of problems at its water plant.
Town staff and officials said that a routine problem reared its head late last week when the plant had to pull more water than usual from a portion of the reservoir where the water is more stagnant.
When that occurred, the water that was pulled into the plant had too much iron and when it was treated with chlorine, it oxidized and created brown colored water.

Babies born with drug addiction become law officers’ concern
When a baby is born with drugs in their system, there are very few comforts a doctor can provide to ease the shakes, tremors and crankiness exhibited during withdrawal.
Two local law enforcement officers want to at least make it uncomfortable for the responsible parents, pursuing charges against a handful of recent mothers they allege passed drugs on to their babies during pregnancy.
Most often, the issue of drug abuse and pregnancy are handled by social service, community or rehabilitative resources.
