All four Franklin County towns, Bunn, Franklinton Louisburg and Youngsville, have already stated strongly that they want to maintain local control of their ABC stores as opposed to surrendering control to a more regional system that some fear eventually will become statewide.

A Louisburg man was rushed to the hospital Monday morning after crashing a pickup truck into a business complex.
According to a report by Louisburg Police Officer T.W. Lincoln, Rodney Lee Pendergrass, 41, of Edwards Road, was traveling east on E. Nash Street/N.C. 56 just past Woodbine Drive when he lost control of the vehicle.

Franklin County sheriff’s deputies are looking for a suspect who broke into the home of a county commissioner and got away with a county-owned computer.
According to a report by Sgt. Justin Hastings, authorities arrived at the home of Commissioner Penny McGhee-Young on Long Mill Road at 2:23 p.m. on Thursday to find the alarm ringing and the front door kicked open.

Currently, those funds, which come from a .70 surcharge to all land line and cell phone owners — are limited to three areas:

BUNN — Adam Smith had walked a Relay for Life lap before, but this past weekend, he walked it with a weight lifted off his chest — literally.
Smith was diagnosed with cancer in January after doctors found a football-sized tumor in his chest.
His hopes and spirits were both up during Franklin County’s Relay for Life event held at Bunn High School on Friday and Saturday.
The volunteer firefighter has supported the fight against cancer before, but this was the first year he was doing it as a survivor himself.

Unlike his brethren at four-year schools, Sala only has his players for two seasons -- at the most.
That means development times are at a premium, and incoming players are expected to contribute early in their collegiate gridiron careers.
