WILLIAM S. HOWARD
YOUNGSVILLE - William S. “Bill” Howard, 85, died Monday, Aug. 17, 2009 at his home. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. today (Wednesday, Aug. 19) in the chapel of Bright Funeral Home in Wake Forest. Burial will follow in Pine Forest Memorial Gardens.

He was born in Denver, Colo., the son of the late Cleora Hale Howard of Nolan, Tex., and James L. Howard of Yakima, Wash. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II and retired from Nationwide Insurance Co. as a district claims manager after 26 years of service. He was a member of Wake Forest Presbyterian Church.

Surviving: wife, Janice Barham Howard; sons, Ron Howard (Mary) of Newport, James Howard (Donna) of Beaufort and Lynn Howard (Phyllis) of Youngsville; daughter, Jackie Moore (Mike) of Rolesville; and three grandchildren.

Flowers are welcome or memorial contributions may be made to Wake Forest  Presbyterian Church, 12605 Capital Blvd., Wake Forest, NC 27587 or to any chapter of the American Cancer Society.

Friends may visit with the family from 2-3 p.m. Wednesday at Bright Funeral Home & Cremation Center.
