IRENE S. SHARPE
YOUNGSVILLE - Irene Snow Sharpe, 76, died Friday, Jan. 7, 2011. Funeral services were held Sunday, Jan. 9, in the Pine Forest Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel, with the Rev. John Wright. Burial followed in Pine Forest Memorial Gardens.

She was  born in Surry County to the late William C. and Lela Mae Tolbert Snow. She was the Youngsville librarian for 15 years and was instrumental in fund raising for the new library building.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard C. Sharpe, and a brother, Joseph W. Snow.

Surviving: sons, Tony Sharpe (Dee) of Charlotte and Jeffery Sharpe of Louisburg; daughters, Sandi Barbour (David), Lisa Liles (Anthony), Kristi Baker (Larry), all of Youngsville; sister, Rachael Snow Jarrell; brothers, Raymond L. Snow and Swanson C. Snow, all of Mount Airy; three granddaughters; and several step-grandchildren.
