PEARL J. ELLINGTON

FRANKLINTON – Pearl Johnson Ellington, 93, died Thursday morning, July 21, 2011. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 24, at Franklinton Baptist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. David Averette and the Rev. Don Ward officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.

She was a daughter of the late Warner Edward and Lola Nowell Johnson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Duncan V. Ellington; a sister, two brothers; and two grandchildren.

Surviving: daughter, Faye (Hal) Kearney of Franklinton; son, William Ellington of Louisville, Ky.; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends 7 – 8:30 p.m. Saturday, July 23, at Strickland Funeral Home, Louisburg and other times at the home of Faye & Hal Kearney, 3677 Old Franklinton Rd., Franklinton.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 8300 Health Park, Suite 10, Raleigh, NC 27615-4731.
