BESSIE R. LOWERY
WAKE FOREST - Bessie Rogers Lowery, 88, died Sunday, April 9, 2006 at Hillside Nursing Center of Wake Forest. Funeral services will be conducted at 6:30 p.m. today (Wednesday, April 12) in the chapel of Bright Funeral Home, Wake Forest. The Rev. Tommy Seedorf will be officiating.

Visitation with the family and viewing will be 7-8:30 p.m. following the service. Burial commitment service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 13, at Woodland Baptist Church cemetery.

She was born in Franklin County, the daughter of the late Grover Cleveland Rogers and Mary Perry Rogers. She was retired from Wake Medical Center (Wake Forest Branch Hospital).

Surviving: a son, Henry Lowery (Billie); daughters, Claire Alford (John “Bobby”), Louise Powell Choplin (Lewis), Carolyn Allen (Donald), Alice Ray (Jimmy); a sister, Minnie Ada Welch; a brother, Dudley Rogers; 12 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Pearl Phillips and Myrtle Watkins; brothers, Elmo Rogers and G. C. Rogers; and by her twin brother, Hester Rogers.

Flowers are welcomed or memorial contributions may be made to Woodland Baptist Church Building Fund, 190 Woodland Church Road, Wake Forest, NC 27587.
