WAKE FOREST - James Edward Massenburg, 61, died Thursday, June 28, 2012, at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh. Funeral services were held Friday, July 6, at Olive Branch Baptist Church in Wake Forest, with Dr. L. A. Carson officiating. Interment was in the Massenburg family plot at Friendship Chapel Baptist Church, Wake Forest.
He graduated from DuBois High School in Wake Forest. He began his career as a Certified Nursing Assistant with Hillhaven Rehabilitation in Raleigh (now Raleigh Rehab) and worked there for 32 years, becoming a senior CNA. He was a member of Olive Branch Baptist Church Usher Board and was president of the Board for 20 years.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Melvin Rhodes Jr. and William Rhodes.
Surviving: brother, Bobby Rhodes of Staunton, Va.; one uncle; and 20 nieces and nephews.
