JAMES B. “J.B.” ELLIS
OXFORD - James B. “J.B.” Ellis, 74, a resident of 3443 Hwy. 401 S., Louisburg, died Saturday, April 22, at Britthaven Nursing Center in Louisburg.

A native of Granville County, he was the son of the late Julius G. and Thelma Weaver Ellis. He was a member of Dexter Baptist Church and retired from Athol, Inc.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 PM Wednesday in Eakes Funeral Chapel in Oxford by Evangelist Scott Matthews. Burial will be in Dexter Baptist Church Cemetery.

Surviving are his best friend and loving companion, Betty Lou Cash of Louisburg; nephew, Brian Keith Ellis of Oxford; three sisters, Becky Ellis Matthews and Barbara Ellis Hicks, both of Henderson, Nancy Ellis Rose of Oxford; and several nieces and nephews.

Two sisters, Ida Ellis Hicks and Ann Ellis McCormick, and one brother, William T. Ellis, preceded him in death.

Visitation was 7-8:30 PM Tuesday evening at the Eakes Funeral Home in Oxford and at other times at the home of Brian Keith Ellis and Arlene F. Ellis, 6187 Hicksboro Road, Oxford, NC 27565.
