RICHARD G. AYSCUE SR.
HENDERSON - Richard Glenn Ayscue Sr., 79, of the Epsom community, died Saturday, June 30, 2007 at Franklin Regional Medical Center in Louisburg. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, July 3, at New Bethel Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Tammy L. Ayscue. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Born in Franklin County, he was the son of the late Melvin Washington Ayscue and Mary Tharrington Ayscue. He was the widower of Mary Louise VanDyke Ayscue. Mr. Ayscue was a retired farmer and former employee of Alston’s Tobacco Warehouse.

Surviving: a daughter, the Rev. Tammy L. Ayscue of Epsom; son, Richard G. Ayscue Jr. of Louisburg; sisters, Sallie Mae A. Cottrell of Henderson and Fannie Pearl A. Faulkner of Durham; a brother, Calvin S. Ayscue of Epsom; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Elaine A. Wrenn and Gladys A. Edwards; and three brothers, Jack Ayscue, M. W. Ayscue Jr., and Donald Ayscue.
