Christmas play
A play entitled “A Christmas Story” will be presented by the Nelson Chapel Sunday School at 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 20, at the church.
Coats for Christmas
“Coats for Christmas” is currently underway. Good used or new coats will be collected at various locations including Farm Bureau Insurance, Youngsville Library and Village Dry Cleaners. The cleaners will clean them and they will be distributed to various organizations, including Care & Share, Senior Citizens Center, Safe Space, Youngsville Christmas Care Program and needy families. Last year, more than 200 coats were collected for men, women and children. If your business would like to be a drop-off point, or if you have questions, call Wayne Champion, (919) 496-2051.
Live Nativity
Rock Spring Baptist Church will host its live drive thru nativity, “A Night of Miracles,” Dec. 11-13 from 7 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. In case of rain, the nativity will be cancelled. This event is free to the public.
The church is just off Highway 39, three miles north of Bunn, and is visible from Highway 39. For more information, call the church at (919) 496-6229.
Candlelight service
A candlelight service will be conducted at Liberty Christian Church on Sunday, Dec. 20, at 7 p.m.
Christmas play
Walnut Grove Missionary Baptist Church will have its Christmas play on Sunday, Dec. 20, at 6 p.m.
Alert Parade
The 20th Annual Alert Christmas Parade is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 12, at 2 p.m. Lineup will start around 1 p.m.
