April 23, 1926 – February 27, 2008
YOUNGSVILLE - Ernestine V. Kellerhals, 81, of Youngsville, North Carolina, passed away on Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at Franklin Regional Medical Center, Louisburg, NC.

Mrs. Kellerhals was born April 23, 1926, in Pittsburgh PA, the first of two children born to Anna M. Vilsack. As a young adult, she was employed in the banking industry and a successful graduate of the Barbizon Modeling School. She married in 1946 and after living in upstate New York for over 40 years and raising 7 children she spent the last 22 years in Youngsville, North Carolina. She was a faithful member of Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church in Louisburg, serving in various ministries with a strong focus on helping others in need.

Surviving are her husband of 61 years, William F. Kellerhals, Sr.; two daughters and a son-in-law, Jane Kellerhals, Charlotte, NC, and Anne and Paul Bailey, Cary, NC; five sons and five daughters-in-law, William and Linda Kellerhals, Jr., Harrisville, NY, Philip and Mary Kellerhals, Colorado Springs, CO, Luke and Jackie Kellerhals, Knightdale, NC, Mark and Janice Kellerhals, Tallahassee, FL, and Matthew and Cheryl Kellerhals, Bothell, WA; and a brother, Arthur Beckel, Floral Park, LI, NY; 9 grandchildren, Amy and Mark Mischenko, Ridgefield, CT, Emily and Raimi Bello, Alexandria, VA, Katherine Kellerhals, Stamford, CT, Angela Bailey and John Evans, Atlanta, GA, John Bailey, Cary, NC, Jason and Annalynn Bailey, Raleigh, NC, Ryan and Lacy Bailey, Cary, NC, Shannon and Eddie Lee, Greenville, NC, and Andrew and Jackie Kellerhals, Clayton, NC; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Friends were received Sunday, March 2, 2008, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. with Deacon Bert L’Homme leading a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. in the Strickland Funeral Home, 103 West Franklin Street, Louisburg, North Carolina. A Catholic Mass was held at 11 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church, 460 Fox Park Road, Louisburg, NC with Msgr Gerald Lewis.

Interment will be in upstate New York in the spring.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to of Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church Building Fund, 937 North Main Street, Louisburg, NC 27549 or a charity of their choice.
