CHARLIE C. SLEDGE SR.
LOUISBURG - Charlie Cleveland Sledge Sr., 82, died Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at his home. A funeral service will be conducted Friday, May 16, at Holly Grove Baptist Church at 3 p.m. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. Sledge was a native of Franklin County, the son of the late Paul Alfred and Annie Wood Sledge.

He was a farmer and a member of Holly Grove Church, where he served on the board of deacons.

He was peceded in death by a brother, Clarence P. Sledge.

Surviving: his wife, Rachel Whitley Sledge; daughters, Peggy Alford (Jimmie); Judy Gaskins (Bill), Patricia Ford (Dan); son, Charlie Sledge Jr. (Judy); sister, Ann Woodard (Bruce); brother, Paul Sledge Jr. (Elsie); nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at Spring Hope Funeral Home, 7881 Webbs Mill Rd., Thursday evening from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m.
