In 1972, Janie married the late Dr. John D. Engle and moved to Conyngham.

She was fond of reading and gardening, and she was active in the Drums Garden Club and was treasurer for Brainerd Historical Church, Sybertsville, Pa.

In addition to her husband, who died in 1994, and her parents, Janie was preceded in death by a sister, Louise Williams, and a brother, Eulian Brooks Williams Sr.
