Bunn clinches NCC basketball crowns
Bunn clinches NCC basketball crowns
KENLY -- Bunn clinched both the boys and girls regular season basketball championships in the Northern Carolina Conference with convincing road victories on Tuesday at North Johnston.
Bunn’s girls were 57-45 winners, while the boys pulled away to claim a 74-36 decision.
Neither BHS club has lost in NCC action.

County redistricting maps approved for elections
As word came down that two lawsuits challenging statewide voting maps will move on — albeit in a weakened capacity — Franklin County commissioners learned that their locally drawn, controversial maps have been approved by the Department of Justice.
As a result of new Census figures, Franklin County commissioners, staff and a hired consultant were tasked with drawing new fair and balanced election districts.

County audit projects a healthy bottom line
Accountants presented commissioners with an audit that praised the county’s financial reporting, and projected a healthy bottom line for the county.
They did highlight, though, the fact that the county’s tax rate is out of whack with similar counties.
Jim Winston with Winston, Williams, Creech, Evans and Company LLC rendered an unqualified opinion — which is the best mark a government can receive in the audit process.
