ALBERTA S. ALSTON

LOUISBURG - Funeral services for Alberta "Peter" Strickland Alston, 76, who died Thursday, Feb. 9, 2017, will be held Thursday, Feb. 16, at 1 p.m. at Cedar Rock Baptist Church in Castalia, with the Rev. Sylvester White officiating. Burial will follow in the Cedar Rock Church cemetery.

ALICE H. BERRY

Alice Mae "Macy" Holmes Berry, 87, died on February 11, 2017 of cancer at Vitas Hospice at Baylor All Saints Hospital. Mrs. Berry was born on April 4, 1929 in Louisburg, North Carolina to Percy Clifton Holmes, Sr. and Susie C. West Holmes. She was one of fifteen children and would entertain her grandchildren with stories of growing up in such a large family.

LOUISBURG - Funeral services for Leonard M. Hawkins, 90, who died Friday, Feb. 10, 2017, will be held Thursday, Feb. 16, at 2 p.m. at South Main Street Baptist Church in Louisburg, with the Rev. David Rosby officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.

WHITAKERS - Funeral services for "Baby Girl" Miracle Nevaeh Taylor, 11 days old, who died Thursday, Feb. 9, 2017, were held Sunday, Feb. 12, at Pleasure Hill Baptist Church in Whitakers. Burial followed in the Pleasure Hill Church cemetery, with the Rev. Ruth E. Taylor officiating.
