ROCKY MOUNT--Funeral services for Brenda Lee Pope, 59, who died Friday, Sept. 15, 2017, will be held Wednesday, Sept. 20, at 1 p.m. at Union Hill Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
HENDERSON--Funeral services for Carl Reginald Williams Sr., 53, who died Friday, Sept. 8, 2017, were held Friday, Sept. 15, in the Richardson Funeral Home Chapel in Louisburg. Burial followed in the Williams family cemetery
WAKE FOREST --Charles Cooke Sr., 91, died Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2017 at his residence. Funeral services were conducted Sunday, Sept. 17, at Faith Missionary Baptist Church in Louisburg. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
RALEIGH--Funeral services for Dareon Tyrese Cook, 18, who died Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2017, were held Friday, Sept. 15, at 4 p.m. at New Hope Freedom and Deliverance Church in Louisburg, with Pastor Lorenzo Peterson officiating.
FRANKLINTON--James E. "Pete" Blackley, 86, died Friday, Sept. 15, 2017 at Rex Hospital. A graveside memorial service will be held Thursday, Sept. 21, at 2 p.m. at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church cemetery, 1626 Gordon Moore Road, Franklinton, with the Rev. Carl Hunter officiating.
LOUISBURG--After a brief illness and surrounded by her loving family, Louise Pearce Jeffreys peacefully went to be with God and join her beloved, devoted husband of 60 years, Tommie (Hubert Devan Jeffreys), on September 16, 2017. Louise supported Tommie, the founder and operator of D&J Automotive in Louisburg, until his death in 2007. A welcome sight around the dealership, Miss Louise usually brought her delicious pineapple cake to be enjoyed by all. Louise's family was most important to her and she enjoyed spending time with them. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend and will be missed by all who knew her.
LOUISBURG--Samuel D. Gourley, 60, died Thursday, Sept. 14, 2017 after a brief battle with cancer. Funeral services will be private.
