DOROTHY MAE AUTREY

LOUISBURG - Dorothy Mae Autrey, 93, died Saturday morning, Feb. 23, 2019. The family will receive friends 10 a.m. Tuesday, with the funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Calvary Baptist Tabernacle. Burial will follow in Ransdell Chapel Baptist Church cemetery.

ELSIE CORBITT CURRIN

LOUISBURG--Elsie Corbitt Currin, 94, of Louisburg transitioned peacefully into eternal rest on Friday, February 22, 2019 at Franklin Oaks Nursing and Rehab. Born on August 3, 1924 to the late Thomas Clifton and Olivia Mozingo Corbitt. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Tommy Lou Smith, Elizabeth Roundtree and Nancy Hand. Elsie graduated from ECU with her master's degree, a beloved teacher of thousands of children for 44 years. She lived most of her life in Gatesville and Edenton, NC, with a dear fondness for the Chowan River.
