ERDINE LEE VANN
ZEBULON - Erdine Lee Vann, 87, formerly of 13597 Highway 39 S, Zebulon, died Thursday, March 4, 2010, at Wilson Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 7, at Strickland Funeral Home, 211 W. Third St., Wendell. Burial will follow in the Hales Chapel Baptist Church cemetery.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service and other times will be at the home of Rowland and Jane Vann Strickland, 316 E. Commercial Ave., Stantonsburg, NC 27883.

She was born to Wade Clayon and Annie Creech Lee in the O’Neals Township area of Johnston County. She was employed by the former Belk’s store in Wendell and operated a country store with her husband for approximately 20 years before his health forced him to retire. She also was employed with the former Rose’s store in Zebulon for about 10 years.

Surviving: daughters, Carolyn Vann-Anthony of Wilson and Jane Vann Strickland (Rowland) of Stantonsburg; sisters, Adele Lee Brown of Raleigh and Peggy Lee Wilder (Barna) of Zebulon; three grandchildren; and four great-grandsons.

In addition to her parents and husband, Talmadge Lynwood Vann, she was predeceased by her three brothers, Fred, Bobby Keith, and James Worley Lee, and a sister, Magdalene Lee Upchurch.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Christ Baptist Church Building Fund, P. O. Box 1442, Wilson, NC 27894.
