KERMIT D. CARTER SR.
RALEIGH - Kermit David Carter Sr., 84, died Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2010 at Wake Medical Center. Funeral services were held Thursday, Aug. 12, in the chapel of Bright Funeral Home, with the Rev. J. Marshall Neathery officiating. Burial followed with Masonic rites at Montlawn Memorial Park in Raleigh.

He was born in Wake County, the son of the late Lottie Young Carter and Ed Carter.

Surviving: sons, K. David Carter Jr. (Marilyn) of Cary, Danny R. Carter (fianceƩ, Kathy Kahl) of Youngsville, Larry Carter (Bea) of Youngsville; brothers, Thomas H. Carter of Garner, Elbert Carter of Carthage and Edward Carter of Cochran, Ga.; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Lucy Timberlake and Bethina Edwards; a brother, Fred Carter; and one granddaughter.

Flowers accepted or memorial contributions may be made in his honor  to the Masonic Home for Children, 600 College St., Oxford, NC 27565.
