WILLARD D. MORTON, SR.
LOUISBURG—Willard Dewey Morton, Sr., 92, of Louisburg, died Wednesday, December 15, 2010, at Wake Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Edens Morton, and his son, W. Dewey Morton, Jr. Mr. Morton was retired from US Army National Guard with 32 years of service during WWII as a Chief Warrant Officer and from Louisburg Fire & Rescue Departments. He was a member of Louisburg Baptist Church where he was currently serving as a Sunday School Teacher. 

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Louisburg Baptist Church, with the Rev. Reggie Rushing officiating.
Entombment will follow in Lancaster Memorial Park Mausoleum. 

He is survived by his granddaughter, Holli Morton of Newberg, Oreg., and special friends, Gerald and Barbara of Louisburg. 

The family received friends Friday night from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Lancaster Funeral and Cremation Services, 804 N. Bickett Boulevard, Louisburg.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Louisburg Baptist Church Neighbors Fund, P.O. Box 730, Louisburg, NC  27549.  The flag in front of the funeral home flies at half-staff in honor of Mr. Morton’s service to his country.
