MARY E. REINARD
EDEN - Mary Elizabeth Reinard, 87, formerly of Eden, but most recently of 5215 Creedmoor Road, Raleigh, died Thursday, Feb. 3, at Rex Hospital in Raleigh. A funeral mass was held Tuesday, Feb. 8, at St. Joseph of the Hills Catholic Church in Eden. Burial followed in Ridgeview Memorial Gardens.

She was born in Ironwood, Mich., daughter of the late Barney and Kathryn Whalen Doherty. She was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran.

Surviving: five daughters, Shirley Starr of Fayetteville, Diane Long of Aurora, Colo., Marsha Jacobs of Fayetteville, Pamela Chang of Youngsville, and Stephanie Smith of Raleigh; sister, Kathryn Cuseo of Melbourne, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Richard Reinard, and one grandson.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 8300 Health Park, Suite 10, Raleigh, N.C. or St. Francis Springs Prayer Center, 477 Grogan Road, Stoneville, NC 27048.
