JAMES M. “KEN” PHILLIPS
ZEBULON – James McKinley “Ken” Phillips, 82, died Sunday morning, June 17, 2012. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 20, at Union Hope Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jim Robertson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

He was a son of the late James Algar and Mattie Lois Pearce Phillips and was preceded in death by his sister, Alice Faye Wester. He was a retired Navy veteran and a member of Union Hope Baptist Church.

Surviving: wife, Allie M. Phillips; daughters, Gale Williams (Kenny) of Zebulon, Jill Alford (Garry) of Bunn; son, Walt Phillips (Beatriz) of Kendell, Fla.; sisters, Thelma Baker (James), Peggy Ann Johnson ( Sammy); brothers, John Phillips (Julie), Jake Phillips (Janet), Joe Phillips (Mary), Jack Phillips (Faye), Jessie Phillips (Sara), Jarvis Phillips (Cathy); six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Union Hope Baptist Church, Building Fund, 12712 Hwy. 97 W., Zebulon, NC 27597.
