ZEBULON - Barbara Jean Perry Finch died Friday, May 17, 2013 at Wake Med Hospital in Raleigh. Funeral services were held at Hopkins Chapel Baptist Church, Zebulon, on Tuesday, May 21, with the Rev. Glen Brock, the Rev. Earl Roach and the Rev. Keith Wagner officiating. Burial followed at the Zebulon Town Cemetery.
Born in Franklin County to Larby and Ruth Perry, she attended Bunn High School, graduating with honors, and served as class president. She graduated from Hardbarger Business College and worked with Job P. Wyatt and Wyatt Quarles Seed in Raleigh as a secretary. She also worked as business account manager for Elmo Finch Farms.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmo Finch Sr.; daughter, Kathy Finch; and her brother, Franklin Perry.
Surviving: sons, Elmo Finch Jr. and Franklin Finch; daughter, Janie Dupree (Wayne); sisters, Rebecca Beddingfield of Bunn and Melrose Ferrell of Zebulon; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, Barbara asked that memorials be made to a special memorial fund, Hopkins Chapel Baptist Church, c/o Barbara Finch Memorial Fund, 4525 Hopkins Chapel Road, Zebulon, NC 27597.
