THE REV. DAVID J. BLAKE
LOUISBURG - The Rev. David J. Blake, 60, died Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013, at his home. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Aug. 23, at 2 p.m. at Alert Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Dean Fulford Jr. and the Rev. Dale Eatmon officiating.  Entombment will follow in Lancaster Memorial Park Mausoleum.

He was born to the late Johnny H. and Pensacola Lois Ivey Blake.  He served his country in the US Navy from 1971- 1974 and served as pastor of Alert Pentecostal Holiness Church in Alert for 11 years. Prior to that, he served churches in Mt. Olive, Fayetteville, Pamlico Beach, Windsor and Hamilton, NC.  He was preceded in death by his sister, Ellen Fox. 

Surviving: wife, Teresa Harris Blake; daughter, Sharon B. Fuller (Jerry) of Youngsville; son, Michael Blake of Raleigh; four sisters, Peggy Stancil, Lois Moore, Jackie Holliday and Rose Ricks; brothers, Bobby Ivey, Tommy Ivey, Jimmy Ivey and Joey Blake; and two grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Monday night from 7 to 9 p.m. at Lancaster Funeral and Cremation Services, 804 N. Bickett Blvd, Louisburg and at the home, 776 Alert Road, Louisburg at all times.
