COLIN THOMAS BURNETTE

JAMESTOWN, NC - Colin Thomas Burnette, 21, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, October 27, 2013 in Raleigh, NC.

Colin was born in Greensboro on July 14, 1992, the son of Scott Thomas and Cheryl Vuncannon Burnette. He graduated from Southwest Guilford High School and was in his senior year studying finance at North Carolina State University. Colin was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity and served as their Alumni Relations Chairman. He was also the Marketing Director for NC State’s Finance Club. Colin was an avid golfer. He also enjoyed playing guitar and spending time with his family and friends.

Colin was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Bonnie B. and Linzy Young Burnette of Louisburg, NC. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving parents, Scott and Cheryl Burnette of Jamestown, NC; sister, Hannah Lynn Burnette of Jamestown, NC; maternal grandparents, Darrell and Jo Ann Vuncannon of Jamestown, NC; aunts and uncles: Randy and Vicky Floss of Oak Ridge, NC; Michael Vuncannon of Greensboro, NC; Steve and Sandy Manuel of Tampa, FL; Mike and Patti Bare of Charlotte, NC; Alan and Susan Summerlin of Louisburg, NC; cousins: Branden and Taylor Floss; Maggie and Mike Vuncannon; Cydney and Madison Manuel; Jordan and Cameron Bare; and Jodie Summerlin.

A Celebration of Colin’s life will be held on Saturday, 11:00 a.m. at St. John’s United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mike Collins officiating. Burial will follow at Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel.
