VASTI BAILEY JOYNER
LOUISBURG - Vasti Bailey Joyner, 96, of Louisburg died Thursday, December 26, 2013.  She was born in Franklin County on September 27, 1917 to the late Alonza and Nellie Burnette Bailey. She was a faithful member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church for 84 years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne J. Joyner, and two daughters, Shirley J. Stevenson, Janice J. Wallace; son, G. Douglas Joyner; and two grandchildren, Terry Joyner and Kim Smith Tharrington.
Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Brenda Joyner and Kenneth Smith of Louisburg; her son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Judy Joyner of Louisburg; her daughter-in-law, Frances Joyner; and son-in-law, A.T. Stevenson.

Surviving grandchildren are Wayne Stevenson, Greg Wallace, Tom Wallace, Rick Wallace (Fredda), Michael Wallace (Marilyn), Joe Wallace, Lisa Edwards (J.B.), David Joyner, Chris Joyner, Angie Bumgarner, Amber Bottoms (Russell), Dillon Joyner, and Brooke Joyner.  She is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, December 29, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with burial following in the church cemetery. The family received friends immediately following the services at the church.
