WILLIE R. LOYD, SR.
LOUISBURG - Willie Robert Loyd, Sr., 88, of Louisburg died Monday, January 20, 2014 at Franklin Regional Medical Center.   The son of the late Billy Joe and Elma Sikes Loyd.  Mr. Loyd served our country in the US Army during WWII, was a member of the Cattleman’s Association and he loved to hunt.  

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church with Pastor Charles Summerlin and Pastor Larry Ayscue officiating.  Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Helen Vaughan Loyd; his son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Ann Loyd ; his daughters and sons-in-law, Meredith and David Wilder and Loria and Eugene Lester; his brother and sister-in-law, Billy Joe “BJ” and Henrietta Loyd; five grandsons, Lee Wilder (Susan), Robbie Loyd (Jennifer), Wyatt Lester, Chris Wood and Dale Lester; two granddaughters, Marcie Lester and Heather Ferguson (Joe); five great-grandchildren, Daniel Wilder, Trevor Wilder, Colton Loyd, Eden Lester and Madelyn Ferguson; his niece, Mary White (Brian); his adopted family, James Hale and his special friend, Tom Allen.

The family will receive friends Tuesday night from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Lancaster Funeral and Cremation Service, 804 N. Bickett Boulevard, Louisburg.  Arrangements are being handled by Lancaster Funeral and Cremation Services, 804 N.
