R. PRESTON ALFORD, SR.
February 23, 1944 - October 11, 2014

LOUISBURG - Robert Preston Alford, Sr., 70, of Louisburg, died Saturday afternoon.

Preston was a son of the late O.T. and Hortense C. Alford. He was preceded in death by his brother, Ollie Alford, and grandson, Brennon Perry.

A memorial service was held 3 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home with the Reverend Melton Tyson officiating. The family received friends immediately following the service.

Preston is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Sue Alford; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Jim Reynolds of Louisburg; sons, Robby Alford of Knoxville, TN; Todd Alford of Louisburg; brothers and sister-in-law, Stewart Alford of Brownsville, CA; Barry and Barbara Alford of West Jefferson; grandchildren, Colton Mullen and Susan Perry Alford.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rock Spring Baptist Church, 34 Rock Springs Church Rd., Louisburg, NC 27549.
