DOROTHY W. CLAY

LOUISBURG - Dorothy Wrenn Clay, "Dot" 89, died Sunday, Feb. 22, 2015. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Feb. 25, at 11 a.m. at Louisburg United Methodist Church with the Rev. Madison Hankal officiating. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.

She was born in Louisburg to the late Eugene Cleveland Wrenn and Minnie Woodlief Wrenn. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Eunice Wrenn Spencer, Gladys Wrenn Watkins, Ella Wrenn Bailey, Lona Wrenn Ayscue and Myrtle C. Wrenn; and her brothers, George Ruffin Wrenn and James Cleveland Wrenn.

She retired in 1987 from the Franklin County ASCS (Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service) after 42 years of service and was a member of Louisburg United Methodist Church, serving as treasurer for many years.

Surviving: husband, Wilson P. Clay of Louisburg; sons, Gary W. Clay (Susan) of Statesboro, Ga., Wayne T. Clay of Chattanooga, Tenn.; brother, Malcolm Edwin Wrenn of Louisburg; sisters, Mildred Wrenn Smith, Jean Wrenn Johnson (Asher), all of Louisburg, Lillian Wrenn Pennisi of Raleigh; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, Feb. 24, from 6 to 8 p.m at Lancaster Funeral and Cremation Services.
