JENNIE A. BELL

LOUISBURG - Jennie A. Bell, 94, of Louisburg died Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. The family received friends Saturday, April 4, at 2 p.m. at Maple Springs Baptist Church where funeral service followed at 3 p.m., with the Rev. Jason Havens officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

She was born April 12, 1920 to the late Zollie and Jennie Denton Medlin. She was a member of Maple Springs Baptist Church. She was a hard worker, loved fishing, gardening and the outside and she was dedicated to her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Edward Bell, Sr.; her sons, J.E. Bell, Jr. and David "Butch" Bell (Juanita), and her daughter, Rada Ann Upchurch (Doug); and three brothers.

Surviving: her daughter, Mary Helen Tucker (Fred); her son, Melvin Lewis Bell (Sherry); her daughter-in-law, Sue Bell; four sisters; 14 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Maple Springs Baptist Church, 1938 NC Hwy 56 E., Louisburg, NC 27549.
