JAMES C. LANCASTER, JR.

LOUISBURG - James Corpening "Jimmy' Lancaster Jr, age 70, of Louisburg peacefully passed away Friday, October 30, 2015. He was born on July 2, 1945 to the late James C. Lancaster, Sr. and Juanita Elizabeth Champion Lancaster. Jimmy may have been best known for his love of people and good food and he had the opportunity to show this love while he owned and operated Lancaster's BBQ and Catering for many years before his retirement. During these years he touched many lives and was a fixture at the NC State Fair where you could see him making sure everybody had plenty to eat.

The family received friends Monday, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Centerville Baptist Church where a funeral service followed at 2:00 p.m.

He is survived by his daughter, Leigh Stott, son-in-law, Jeff Stott, granddaughters, Morgan and Abbey Stott, as well as his sister, Pamela Leonard, and brother, Milton "Bill" Lancaster. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Piner.

The family would like to say a special" Thank You" to the staff of Rocky Mount Rehabilitation where Jimmy spent the last year of his life. The care and love that was shown to him and our family has been outstanding and we are truly grateful to you all.

Contributions may be made to Hospice of Nash General, 2460 Curtis Ellis Drive, Rocky Mount, NC 27804 or to Centerville Baptist Church, 2370 Leonard Road, Louisburg, NC 27549. Funeral arrangements are being made through Lancaster Funeral and Cremations, 804 N. Bickett Boulevard, Louisburg. Online condolences may be made to www.lancasterfcs.com.
