DELILAH "LIZA" T. RAY
Oct. 30, 1927 - Oct. 5, 2016

PILOT-Delilah "Liza" Tant Ray, 88, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday night surrounded by her family. She was a good, kind, loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister and friend. Everyone was always welcome at any time at her home. She had a positive attitude and a great sense of humor.

She was born in Franklin County, a daughter of the late Junie Leslie and Viola Williams Tant and was preceded in death by her husband, Waddell Ray, and a brother, Elmo Tant.

Funeral service was held 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, 2016 at the home of Vickie and Connie Mack Robbins. Burial was at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Ray Family Cemetery, Pilot.

She is survived by her children, Barbara Jo Ray, Jane R. Horton (Freddie), Charles E. Ray (Cathy) and Vickie R. Robbins (Connie Mack); sisters, Lucille T. Pearce and Dearl Ferrell; brother, Demo Tant; sister-in-law, Pauline Tant; grandchildren, Michael C. Ray, Jason W. Horton (Laura) and Jackson C. Ray; great-grandchild, Kacie E. Horton.

Flowers accepted or memorials may be made to Pilot Baptist Church, 8103 NC 39 Hwy S., Zebulon, NC 27597 or Transitions Life Care, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC 27607.

The family would like to thank the Franklin County EMS and the Pilot Fire Department for their quick response and kindness and also a special thanks to her caregiver, Josephine Carpenter, for the love and tenderness shown to our Mother.

Friends may visit with the family at the home of Vickie and Connie Mack Robbins, 8223 NC 39 Hwy. S., Zebulon at all times.
