J. RONALD BURNETTE
December 18, 1927 - January 6, 2017

LOUISBURG - James Ronald Burnette, 89, of Louisburg, passed away Friday morning.

Ronald was a son of the late William Cecil and Margaret Gilliam Burnette. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Elna D. Burnette; sisters, Wilma Murphy, Lou Leonard and Ida Pearl Abbott; brothers, Lonnie Burnette, Ben Burnette and Robert Glenn Burnette. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at Louisburg Baptist Church with Dr. Reggie Rushing officiating. Burial will follow in Lancaster Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the funeral.

Ronald is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Joe Poleo; son and daughter-in-law Jimmy and Donna Burnette; brothers and sister-in-law, Johnson Burnette all of Louisburg; Johnnie and Alice Burnette of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Tony Coley and wife Lacy; Kaid Driver and wife, Anita; Dana Bassett and husband, Rob; Matthew Poleo; great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Driver, Madelyn Bassett and Ayden Bassett; Makenna Coley and Reagan Coley.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to Louisburg Baptist Church, Clint Kennedy Service Fund, P.O. Box 730, Louisburg, NC 27549.
