RICKY EARL EDWARDS

LOUISBURG - Ricky Earl Edwards, 68, of Louisburg, passed away Thursday morning.

Ricky was born in Louisburg to Henry and Bettie Edwards on July 9, 1949. He graduated from Gold Sand High School in 1967 and earned a degree in Business from Hardbargers College in Raleigh. He went on to become a successful local business owner of Edwards Auto Sales for over 40 years. He was dedicated to his car lot but enjoyed auctions with his wife, brother, and son, playing cards with his "poker buddies", but found true enjoyment watching his daughter, granddaughter, and grandson playing sports.

Ricky is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Bettie Edwards.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Entombment will follow in Lancaster Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 7 - 8:30 p.m. Monday at Strickland Funeral Home, Louisburg.

Ricky is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Debbie J. Edwards; son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Andrea Edwards; daughter and son-in-law, Marla and Wilson Mize; grandchildren, Kristen Edwards Gupton and husband, Colby; Landon Mize and Saylor Mize; and brother Freddie Edwards.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 111 Laurel Mill Rd., Louisburg, NC 27549.
