REV. A. LEO LOWERY
October 21, 1939 - February 18, 2018

LOUISBURG - Rev. Allen Leo Lowery, 78, of Louisburg, passed away Sunday morning at his home.

Rev. Lowery was a son of the late Herbert and Delma Melton Lowery. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Marie Byrd, and his nephew, Dale Lowery.

Rev. Lowery served as Pastor of Hitesburg Baptist Church in Virgilina, VA and retired as Pastor of Red Bud Baptist Church after 23 years of faithful service.

A funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Tuesday at Red Bud Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Linda Lowery; daughter and son-in-law, Tanya and David Brewer of Louisburg; son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Simmie Lowery of Raleigh; brother and sister-in-law, Franklin and Madeline Lowery of Wadesboro; grandchildren, Meagan B. Coker (Elliott), Erika Brewer, Maria Alba, Desirae Alba and Enrique Alba; Sherrie Fowler and Amy Karnes (Paul); great-grandchildren, Jessica Garcia and Lexi Karnes.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Red Bud Baptist Church, Missions Fund, 1284 NC 58 Hwy., Castalia, NC 27816.

The family will receive friends 7 - 8:30 p.m. Monday at Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory, Louisburg, www.stricklandfuneralhome.net.
