PATRICIA FORMYDUVAL ANDERSON

Mom - such a small word for someone that means so much.

YOUNGSVILLE, NC: Mom passed away on the morning of February 16, 2018 with her family by her side. Born on February 9, 1940 to Alma Burke Formyduval and Dessie Milliken Formyduval, Mom was the youngest of six children. She treasured her Brunswick County roots, from which she had many lifelong friends. Following high school, she moved to Charlotte and while working at Southern Bell met and married James S. Anderson.

In 2001, Mom retired from the Department of Revenue after being diagnosed with a glioblastoma multiform brain tumor. Mom handled each day with grace and dignity in the face of a terminal diagnosis. In June 2001, while attending her oldest grandchild's high school graduation, Mom vowed that that would not be the last grandchild she saw graduate. Over the next 17 years, through shear will and determination, she lived to see four more graduate.

Pat is survived by "her girls": Wanda Long (Barney), Wendy Jacobs (Felton) and Melodie Goswick (Steward). Grandchildren: Johnathan (Kristi), Madison (Kevin), Spencer, Summer, Jacob and Rebecca. Great-Grandchildren: Shaun, Lilli Grace, Hailey & Ivy.

Funeral Services were held on Monday, February 19, 2018 at 2 pm at Mitchell Funeral Home (7209 Glenwood Avenue in Raleigh), with interment at Raleigh Memorial Park. A Reception for family and friends was held at Mitchell Funeral Home.

Condolences to the family at www.MitchellatRMP.com.
