BILL WILDER HINTON

HAW RIVER, NC--Bill Wilder Hinton, 77, of Haw River, NC passed away Thursday, Feb. 8, 2018 at his residence.

Bill was a native of Nash County, NC. Bill became a journeyman printer through Fairchild Graphic Technical Center in Long Island, NY. He was proprietor of Hinton Press, Inc. in Mebane for numerous years. He served his community by sponsoring adult men's softball teams as well as women's volleyball teams. He also served on the Jaycees and the Lion's Club, earning an award for most eye donations. He was a member of Hebron United Methodist Church where he helped out with several HEE HAW presentations as Jerry Clower and various other ministries. Bill was an avid drag racing fan and worked on several pro street race cars.

Bill is survived by his children, Karen Hinton Gardner of Louisburg, NC; Christopher Ryan Hinton of Saxapahaw, NC and Bradley Thomas Hinton (Meredith) of Charlotte, NC. Grandchildren, Trey Gardner and Seth Hinton. Former wife, Sandra Raines Hinton of Graham, NC. Siblings, Bonnie Ann Stein, Quen Hinton. He was preceded in death by his parents, Quentin and Colleen Wilder Hinton, and stepdad, Wyatt Kendrick Ott.

A funeral service was held Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Hebron United Methodist Church. Officiating was the Rev. Rob Licht. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hebron United Methodist Church, 2325 Mebane Oaks Rd., Mebane, NC 27302 or to the charity of your choice.
