JANE VIRGINIA ALLEN MURPHY

LOUISBURG--Jane Virginia Allen Murphy, 94, of Louisburg departed this earthly life to be with the Lord on Good Friday. She was born on February 2, 1924 to the late Grover C. and Grady Kendall Allen. She was preceded in death by her husband, George B. Murphy.

Jane was a devout Christian woman, and was devoted to Louisburg United Methodist Church. She was an artist, with a dry wit about her; she loved to read. One of her great joys was watching the birds feed off the bird feeder outside her living room window. Jane was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

The family received friends on Tuesday evening at Lancaster Funeral and Cremation Services. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:00 pm at Louisburg United Methodist Church, with Pastor Mike Safley officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery

Jane is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Caroline and Lance Ponton and Rebekah and Richard Mullinax; her grandchildren, Christopher Mullinax, Dorothy Mullinax, Wesley Ponton (Jessica), and Jared Ponton; and a great-grandson, Asher.

Arrangements are being handled by Lancaster Funeral and Cremation Services. Online condolences may be made to www.lancasterfcs.com.
