NELLIE H. MARSHALL

LOUISBURG-Nellie Harper Marshall, 89, of Louisburg departed this earthly life on Wednesday, April 11, 2018. Born on July 4, 1928 to Elijah Arthur and Lucy Gupton Harper. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John B. Marshall and all of her siblings. She was independent and a hard worker, working alongside of her husband on the farm. She was an active member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and played first base for the women's softball team. She also enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing and her special cat, Missy.

Graveside services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Carroll Family Cemetery, 885 Laurel Mill Centerville Road, Louisburg with Pastor Bob Mosher officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

She is survived by her children, Lucy M. Faulkner (Kenneth), Jenny Renn (Walter), John B. "Benjie" Marshall, Jr. (Linda); granddaughter, Kendra Faulkner; numerous nieces and nephews and her friend and caretaker, Ruby Woodard.

The family would like to thank everyone for their love and support, especially the staff at Franklin Oaks for their care.
