JENNY CROUSE

Our beloved "grandma" Jenny Crouse was called to her new address in the Celestial City on the Lord's Day, May 20th, 2018, after complications from ovarian cancer, passing peacefully in her daughter's home surrounded by family. "My beloved spake, and said unto me, Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away. For, lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone." Song 2:10

Jenny's story began in Henryetta, Oklahoma, January 8, 1948 as the youngest of three children born to Opal and Howard Shaw. She and her husband met and graduated together in Derby, Kansas, 1966. Their love affair lasted 51 years, resulting in three children, 23 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, with loads of friends. Jenny loved being a mother and grandmother. She loved fun and knew "life is short." One of her favorite sayings was, "Life is a banquet, and most poor suckers are starving to death!"

Jenny was the well-known SWAP SHOP radio program hostess for many years, operating in her unique set of "giftings," lovingly helping the community in Titusville, Florida. She was always welcoming and kind to family, friends, and strangers, leaving a big hole in our hearts.

Jenny for many years tried to comfort her soul with the fact that she had responded to an invitation and prayed "the prayer" at the early age of eleven. This fact never totally consoled her though and she often was distressed and had bouts of depression with the thought of no testimony. In the mountains at a Ridgecrest conference, in a moment of desperation, she fell to her knees, in the privacy of her room and called upon Jesus for assurance. God met her.

Jenny's precious siblings are John Howard Shaw, Mary Lee (Shaw) Frederick. Her children are Kimberly Luanne (Crouse) Burke, Kevin Dwayne Crouse and Jonathan Scott Crouse.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 11 o'clock, Thursday morning, May 24, 2018, at the Wake Forest Cemetery.

A service of Clancy Strickland Wheeler Funeral Home, 1051 Durham Road, Wake Forest, NC. (919)556-7400. www.cswfuneralhome.com
