ROBERT G. REDMOND
August 9, 1947 - June 5, 2018

LOUISBURG - Robert Glenn Redmond, 70, of Louisburg, died Tuesday evening.

Robert was a son of the late Frank and Nadine Redmond. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps in the Vietnam War. He then went on to serve in law enforcement with the Louisburg Police Department for two years and then the N.C. Highway Patrol and retired after twenty years of service. After retiring from the N.C. Highway Patrol, Robert served the citizens of Franklin County as Sheriff for twelve years until his retirement.

A memorial service will be held 4 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

Robert is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Betty Jo Redmond; son and daughter-in-law, Glenn and Sherri Redmond of Wilmington; daughter, Chris Haynes; granddaughter, Hailey Haynes, both of Louisburg; sisters and brother-in-law, Joyce Perdue of Wilmington; Becky and Ralph Vasquez of Louisburg; brothers and sisters-in-law, Phil and Rita Redmond of Nashville, TN; Frank and Toba Redmond of Phoenix, AZ; many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hill King United Methodist Church, 1989 NC 39 Hwy. S., Louisburg, NC 27549, or to the Franklin County Animal Shelter, 351 T. Kemp Rd., Louisburg, NC 27549.
