LOLA ALLEN SMITH

FAYETTEVILLE, NC--Lola Allen Smith of Fayetteville, NC passed away on August 17, 2018. She was born in Louisburg, NC on April 25,1930 to the late Auburn Allen and Lola Parrish Allen. A resident of Cumberland County since 1962, Lola worked as a floral designer. She was a military wife who was dedicated to raising her sons and helping her friends and neighbors. She was a long-time member of Saint Matthew's United Methodist Church on Hope Mills Road.

She was preceded in death by her parents and stepmother, Nerve Allen; her husband of 40 years, George W. Smith, Jr.; a brother, Fred Allen; and sisters, Ann Laoudis and Annie Rue Hill.

She is survived by stepbrothers, Paul Allen and Julian Allen and wife, Myrtle of Louisburg, NC; her sons, Steven George Smith and wife, Edna of Topsail Beach, NC, and James Allen Smith of Fayetteville, NC; grandchildren, Steven T. Smith and wife, Karen of Topsail Beach, NC, Matthew Allen Smith and wife, Shelly of Concord, NC and Tracy Elizabeth Smith of Fayetteville, NC; great-grandchildren, Sandy and Connor Smith of Topsail Beach, NC; nieces, Judy Pritchard of Chesapeake, VA and Barbara Kent of Huntsville, AL; several great-nieces and nephews; and many dear neighbors and friends.

Visitation will be August 22, 2018 at 12:00 Noon at St. Matthew's United Methodist Church

A Celebration of Life is scheduled for 1:00 PM at St. Matthew's United Methodist Church.

Burial will occur at Riverview Memorial Gardens in Spring Lake, NC following services at St. Matthew's United Methodist Church.

The family will welcome friends at 4:00 PM, St. Matthew's United Methodist Church following the committal service.

In lieu of flowers, friends may consider making a donation to St. Matthew's United Methodist Church, 202 Hope Mills Road, Fayetteville, NC 28304.
