JAN M. SPINKS

Jan M. Spinks, 83, of Montpelier, Vermont, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, August 1, 2018. She was born on July 2, 1935, in Joplin, Missouri to Milton and Jean Beger.

Jan found joy in many ways during her life. Whether by the way she raised her two beloved children, held voluntary offices in the service of her community, travelled to Cameroon, Africa, or retired to "play at farming" at Holly Hill Farm, it was clear to all who knew her that Jan dearly loved life and was determined to live it well. She particularly enjoyed humming birds, black jelly beans, and closely following the lives of her loved ones.

Jan was preceded in death by her husband Daniel Spinks, with whom she shared a great love and many happy years of travel and farming. She is survived by her children, Sharron Prairie of Northfield, VT, and K. Scott McGee, of Trenton, FL; her sisters, Mary Lynn "Pete" Schmidt of Nevada, MO, and Barbara "Bobbie" Steinhauser, of Clinton, MO; her stepdaughter, Alison McClarrie, of Hilliard, FL; their families, and her much-loved grandchildren and great-grandson.

A celebration of Jan's life will be held on Saturday, September 8th, at 4 pm at her daughter's home at 1579 Route 12 South, in Northfield, VT. She will later be interred with her husband at Arlington National Cemetery.
