LOUISE W. MULLEN

LOUISBURG--Louise Wells Mullen, 94, of Louisburg passed away peacefully on Monday, October 29, 2018 at her daughter's home. Born on December 1, 1923 in Franklin County to the late Roy F. and Mary Cottrell Wells. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Mullen; her daughter, Paulette Mullen Brown; siblings, Robert Edward and Roy Crawford Wells, Carolyn Wells Duke and Elizabeth Wells Vester.

Louise lived her entire life in Franklin County where she worked at The Franklin Times for a number of years and later worked for the local cable company. She was very active in Louisburg Baptist Church where she led GA's for many years; WMU President for several terms and served on the deacon board for many years. Louise also chaired the bereavement committee, being known as one of the first ones in touch when there was a sickness or death and very welcoming to visitors at church.

She also enjoyed her time being involved in the garden club, Thursday night bridge club and played bridge at the senior citizens center. She enjoyed yard work and was an excellent cook, famous for her caramel cake and fried chicken. She was one of the most caring, loving and thoughtful persons in all situations. Anyone who knew her was blessed with having her in their lives.

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Dawn Basler of Wake Forest, and her grandson, Garrett Brown of Austin, TX.

The family will receive friends Thursday night from 6 - 7:30 pm at Lancaster Funeral and Cremation Services, 804 N. Bickett Blvd., Louisburg. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 am at Louisburg Baptist Church with Dr. Reggie Rushing officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
