AVERY JANUS MEDLIN

YOUNGSVILLE--For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. 2 Timothy 4:6-8

Avery Janus Medlin, 79, of Youngsville, went home to be with his Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, November 23, 2018 at his home. He was born in Franklin County to the late Sterling Medlin and Viola Jackson Medlin. As a charter member of Franklinton Living Springs Church of God, he had a profound impact on the lives of all those he touched. He was owner/operator of Avery Medlin Painting and was a loving husband, father, grandfather and will be greatly missed by his family.
Funeral services were held at 11 o'clock Monday, November 26, 2018, at Franklinton Living Springs Church of God with Pastor Robert Collier officiating. Burial followed in Pine Forest Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Medlin is survived by his wife of 56 years, Linda Medlin; children, Gina Bell & husband Cleathen of Louisburg, Sean Medlin & wife Lajean of Louisburg and Deborah Pounds of Benson; siblings, Fleming Medlin of Stem, Margie Ree Hudson of Franklinton and Faye Wilson of Franklinton; grandchildren, Brittany Hurley (Mack), Brandon Bell, Justin Bell (Chelsea), Addison Medlin, Adam Medlin, Ashley Medlin, Catina Hairr, Victoria Baughman (Dennis), Blake Pounds and Savannah Batten (Cody); his great-grandchildren; special friends, Charles "Willy" & Connie Westbrook, Bill & Margaret Wiggins and Carson & Jeanette Bell; numerous extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Bobbie Jean Medlin, Floyd Medlin, Wade Medlin, Ralph Medlin, David "Goody" Medlin and Mary Pounds.
